Punta Cana, Dominican Republic – The Blue Marlin run has begun off the East Coast of the Dominican Republic and the White Marlin never left. The numbers are not “shocking” but they are consistent with most boats getting 4-5 bites a day between Blue Marlin and White Marlin. Even a few Sailfish and Spearfish have been released, so don’t be shocked if we start getting reports of Grand Slams.

The best Blue Marlin day we have heard of over the last week was from Sandman, turning in a 4 Blue Marlin and 1 White Marlin day. Get Lit was right there with them, going 3-3 on Blue Marlin and 2-5 on White Marlin. Capt. Jimmy Grant on Cinco has been out trolling around with his best day going 2-3 on Blue Marlin and 2-3 on White Marlin. Capt. VJ Bell on Sea Check has been on the bite as well going 5-7 on Blue Marlin and 3-5 on White Marlin over a 2-Day period.

Late summer and early fall has historically been a great time to go chase Blue Marlin out of Cap Cana Marina so we expect these numbers to get even better.
