Florida – Not known for a great marlin bite, the state of Florida has had a great May. We have heard a number of Blue and White Marlin in the Keys, off Cape Canaveral and now off of Northeast Florida. “Ledge Lady” reported a 150 lbs Blue Marlin and there was at least two more released this weekend.
We love to hear of all of the marlin around, but nothing gets our hearts pumping like large Blue Marlin. A very impressive 640 lbs Blue Marlin (who unfortunately died in the fight) was weighed by the boat “C-Fan” a 48′ Viking out of St. Augustine, FL. It was a four and a half hour fight for angler Rick Thompson.
This is a rare catch to say the least in Northeast Florida and is a new Club Record for the Northeast Marlin Fishing Association.
Congrats to angler and crew!
