Whangaroa, New Zealand – What was a long stretch without any large Swordfish being reported to us, ended abruptly with our first 500+ out of San Juan, Puerto Rico on the M&M. Now, just days later we received a report of a 450 lbs. Swordfish caught on the Gamekeeper out of New Zealand as well as this beauty of a broadbill (pictured above) weighing 609 lbs. courtesy of Diversion also in New Zealand. There should be no connection whatsoever between the Puerto Rican caught fish and these New Zealand fish given geography, but we are just happy to have them after a 9-Month drought on large broadbills. Thanks to Mark Thodey for the picture of Diversion’s fish.
