Guatemala – There has been a very consistent bite on Sailfish over the las few days, with most boats getting at least 20+ shots. Mixed in with the Sailfish though, there have been a lot of Blue Marlin seen to make it interesting. Boats are reporting raising 1-2 a Day, with most coming up on their teaser.

With all the Sailfish around, a lot of boats have also broken out the Fly gear in order to enjoy these acrobatic fish. Capt. Chris ‘Kiwi’ van Leeuwen on Allure II recently released 8 Sailfish on Fly, Capt. Chris Sheeder on Rum Line released 7 and Capt. Brad Philipps on Decisive also got 7.

On conventional tackle, Allure II went an impressive 24-32 on Sailfish and also missed a Blue Marlin. Rum Line released 17 Sailfish and also scored a Blue Marlin for good measure.  Decisive went 16-18 on Sailfish and also had a Blue Marlin up.

Still very early in the season, so we should continue to see good numbers.
