Kona, Hawaii – The Blue Marlin have officially declared the beginning of summer on the Big Island. It has been a nice mix of numbers and size, with seven (7) Blue Marlin reported to us over 500 lbs. including a pair of 800 lbs. fish from Northern Lights and Sea Genie II. High Noon had a great outing going 3-5 on Blue Marlin and we got a report that Kevin Nakamura on Northern Lights also got 5 hooked-up.
Both Marlin Magic boats have been consistently releasing fish, including a 500 lbs. Blue Marlin for Capt. Bryan Toney on Marlin Magic. Back on Marlin Magic II, we can’t get enough of the excellent photography from Carol Lynne (our featured image) and thankfully Capt. Marlin Parker is finding the fish. Capt. Chip Van Mols on the Luna has had a couple two Blue Marlin days as well as Kona Blue. High Flier has also been in the mix on the Blue Marlin and even some Spearfish.
Summer has just begun and we all know what July and August can produce. Tournament season is about to start, including the Kona Shootout from August 3rd – 6th.
