We thought July was a good month until we remembered the Azores may have a few fish to add. Turns out we had an eye-popping 87 Blue Marlin and 3 Black Marlin in the month of August reported to us. The Azores was indeed the difference maker with 39 Blue Marlin released over 500 lbs. making it our Top Fishery for the month. Our 2nd best fishery who just never wants to back down was  Kona, HI with 19 Blue Marlin over the 500 lbs. mark. Kona also decided to show off, adding a rare Black Marlin to the list from the Linda Sue III with a 679 lbs fish.

We had a tie for the Top Boat in August with both Brasilia and Nola releasing 11 Blue Marlin over 500 lbs. in the Azores. No Granders reported to us in August, with the largest fish coming from Marlin Magic II over in Kona, weighing in a 964 lbs. Blue Marlin.

The September 500+ Club is already filling out nicely, but it is going to take a helluva effort for it to beat August.
