Carolina Coasts (USA) – The dolphin are here and so are the tuna, so guess who has started to make their presence felt? Blue Marlin, White Marlin and Sailfish are all being seen and caught from Charleston, South Carolina all the way up to Oregon Inlet, North Carolina. May usually brings the start of the Billfish season and this year is no different.

Off Charleston, South Carolina both Wadamacallit and Full Pull both got early season White Marlin releases and Just Released got a Blue Marlin. Tort Teaser went 1-2 on Sailfish off Hilton Head while Rascal released a Blue Marlin and 2 Sailfish off Georgetown.

Up in North Carolina we have reports of fish from Wilmington up to Manteo. Obsession and A Salt Weapon both released White Marlin out of Oregon Inlet, Miss Judy released 2 Blue Marlin off of Beaufort, while Bill Collector and Gamekeeper both released Blue Marlin down south. Hatteras has had number of boats flying flags, with Bluefin and Good Times releasing Blue Marlin over the last few days.

Tournament season is about to kick into high gear so we expect to get some good results from the Hatteras Village Offshore Open, Georgetown Blue Marlin Tournament and the Cape Fear Blue Marlin Tournament amongst others.
