We had a total of (117) Marlin reported to us over 500 lbs. From those there were (102) Black Marlin and (15) Blue Marlin. From those, we add (19) Grander Black Marlin and (1) Grander Blue Marlin including a 1,148 lbs. Black Marlin for Little Audrey in Cooktown, Australia and a 1,305 lbs. Blue Marlin for the Harmattan in Ascension Island.
It took until November, but the Great Barrier Reef finally flexed its muscle on Big Black Marlin. As is always the case, Northern Queensland was the Top Fishery for November with ninety-one (91) Black Marlin over 500 lbs. reported, accounting for eight-nine percent (89%) of all Black Marlin caught over 500 lbs. and all Grander Blacks caught in the World. Bazaruto, Mozambique was our 2nd best fishery with ten (10) Black Marlin reported to us in November.
Our Top Boat was the Amokura who released thirteen (13) Black Marlin over 500 lbs. including three they called over 1,000 lbs.
December is traditionally a very slow month for 500+ Marlin, but with all the odd water temps we have been seeing this Fall, don’t be surprised to see quite a few caught.
