Congratulations to Wes Davis, a 10-year-old from Malibu, CA, who has achieved IGFA’s Billfish Royal Slam – catching all nine species of billfish. Wes is the youngest to ever achieve this designation – a designation that less than 100 people worldwide have registered.

Here’s the order he followed:
– 2005 (age 6): short-billed spear, white marlin
– 2007: Atlantic sail, Pacific blue
– 2008: Pacific sail, swordfish
– 2009: black marlin, striped marlin, Atlantic blue

All, save the swordie, were tagged and released.
