So where are the Billfish showing up these days?

Well, for starters Ascension Island is heating up – seeing fish as large as 950 this last week, with some consistent size on fish in the spread.

Cabo San Lucas is really not replicating the great February/March striped marlin bite from the last three years – the bills are scarce these days.

Though not a lot of boats out, Cape Verde is seeing some blues around, to 500.

Some insane sailfishing off Isla Mujeres – where seeing 30-50 sails a day isn’t unusual.

High season in Panama continues to be good fishing for black and blue marlin in particular…with a mix of other bills as well.  Blacks to 800.

As recently reported here on Billfish Report, a good run of larger blues off Brazil lately…seeing their season finally pick up.

Kenya continues to see terrific variety, if not size, of bills…one of the best places to pick up a slam these days.

Size of blues seems to be picking up in Kona – fish to 600 pounds – though the typical striped marlin bite not there.

The sail bite in Guatemala continues to run strong, double digit days the norm.

South Florida seeing good sail and swordfish bite – recent swordie went 450.

Australia still seeing a small black marlin bite, with occasional blues.  New Zealand striped marlin bite has been decent, with fish to 300+ pounds and some good size on the blues as well – to 600.

No good reports out of Venezuela or many other Mexico locations.
