Malindi, Kenya – It should come as no surprise that a Billfish Grand Slam was accomplished in Keyna, but this time on fly! As if it was not challenging enough to get three species in one day, angler Con Jooste added the element of doing it with a fly rod. What made this even more impressive is that one of the three was a swordfish (Sailfish, Striped Marlin, Swordfish). The boat was the Eclare which is part of the Kingfisher Fleet.

We are not sure a Grand Slam on fly has ever been done with a swordfish as one of the species. Please email me at hook@billfishreport.com if you know of another person that has accomplished this.
