If you’re looking for large blue marlin right now, there’s no better place in the world than Kona.  The fleet is seeing a disproportionate number of large fish – half are over 400 pounds, with numerous fish in the 700-pound class.

Not many boats in the fleet are out, but those that are are seeing fish of world-class size.  In the last several weeks…

– Illusions weighed a 619-pounder

– Tropical Sun released a 750-pounder

– Kona Joe released a 700

– Night Runner released a 550

– Top Shape released a 500

…and that’s not even speaking to the recent 1,245-pound blue caught by the Maggie Joe in Honolulu.
