White Marlin Open – Final results

Ocean City, MD – So a fantastic week of fishing has come to a close in Ocean City, MD, with an amazing 255 boats having fished this legendary tournament.  Total purse this year was $2.1 million.

And congratulations to the Shelly II, with angler Brian Roberts, on a 97-pound white marlin which ended up being the highest payout ($857K).  Largest blue caught in the week was a grander – the tournament’s second year in a row with a grander blue – on board the Let It Ride.  1,010 was the fish’s weight, with $423K as the prize.

The Fin Ness (1263 points) barely edged out the Trophy Hunter (1258) for top billfish points.  Third was the Singularis (981), with the Fight-N-Lady and Backlash tied for fourth with 875 points.

Congratulations to the tournament organizers and all participants on a terrific tournament!  More information and plenty of pictures on whitemarlinopen.com.
