Black Marlin on the Ribbon Reefs for “Gorilla”

850 lbs Black Marlin behind Gorilla

Port Douglas, AustraliaCapt. Brett Thomas on the Gorilla sent us this report and these great shots from his Go-Pro Camera fishing off the Ribbon Reefs.

Day 1 – Fishing the No. 4 Ribbon Reef, they went 2-3 on Black Marlin, releasing a 200 and 300 lbs fish.

Day 2 – Fishing the No. 8 Ribbon Reef, they again went 2-3, releasing a 200 and a 450 lbs fish.

Day 3 – Fishing the No. 5 Ribbon Reef, the crew quickly released a 200 lbs black and then later the “trophy” 850 lbs fish (Seen Above)

Capt. Brett tells us the 850 charged the boat and stuck its bill in the transom, leaving a nice hole! Bet that was exciting!
