Key West, FL – 44 Boats lined up again to try and find the elusive Blue Marlin for bragging rights in the Florida Keys. The Drambuie Key West Marlin Tournament is the only marlin tournament held in the Keys, so the pressure was on.
Moppy Dick II released two blue marlin to take the honors and the $25,000 first place prize. Ironically, both anglers were novice marlin enthusiasts, having never released a blue marlin. Both fish were likewise caught at the same time of the day, at the same spot and on the same lure. We’ll go ahead and call that pretty good luck.
On Course took 2nd Place with 1 Blue Marlin released as well as two dolphin. Blue Heaven took 3rd Place with 1 Blue Marlin released as well as wahoo.
Congratulations to Moppy Dick II for the win!
