Big Swords in Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres, Mexico – Mostly known for its incredible wintertime sailfishing, perhaps Isla has a swordfishery as well. While fishing with Capt. Anthony Mendillo on the Keen M, Jessica Harvey, daughter of artist and conservationist Guy Harvey caught this spectacular 600 lbs. Swordfish. Not only is this the largest swordfish taken in these waters, it is one of the largest caught by a lady angler in recent history. This big broadbill did not go down without a fight, taking over three hours to get to the boat.

Harvey was down in Mexico working on a new documentary on Whale Shark migration.

A big congratulations to Jessica on this impressive catch!
